Last September I spent 4 days on the Elwha River, hiking and sketching in watercolor. I recently finished this oil painting in the studio. It was inspired by the wonderfully calm waters just below Glines Canyon, where I stopped on a sunny afternoon to have lunch. My goal in painting this piece was to capture the warm sun that was so inviting that day. I hope you enjoy it!
